All public schools that IACE has a relationship with have an Academic Performance Index (API) of 825 or higher and are in the top 7% of all public schools in the Nation.
*Please note that public schools have limited space and have a limit on how many international exchange students they will accept from the same country and limited space therefore it is best to apply by March!

Students on an F-1 Visa whether applying to public or private are required to take Math, English, Science, History and two Electives.
Some Electives to name a few are:
Sports Team, Physical Education (weights, volleyball, basketball, running, etc..), Dance, Fashion Design, Cooking, Drawing, Painting, Theater, Film Making, Chorus, Cartoon Animation, Video Game Design, Web Design, Etc..

As an Exchange Student, you will have the option to chose the high school that you feel best meets what you are looking for in a high school atmosphere. Some high schools have an open air campus (outdoors surrounding the classrooms), some have outdoor surroundings and indoor building classrooms and some high schools have one level of classrooms and some have 3 building levels of classrooms!
As an International High School Exchange Student, I am sure you would like to take a look inside of some school hallways and typical classroom!! Normally hallways are always decorated by students creating posters to hang on the walls for special occasions. For example first day of school welcome, holidays, school events, sporting events, fundraisers, etc...
In US High Schools School Spirit and Sports are very important! As an Exchange Student you can try out for a sports team and compete against other high schools if selected for that sport after tryouts! Team Sports include: Cross Country, Volleyball, Water Polo, Tennis, Golf, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball,Softball,Wrestling, and Swim Team.
Are you an International Exchange Student into Performing Arts/ Acting/Theater/Stage Production? All Schools offer these courses as an Elective! There are several levels offered. Some high schools offer 3 levels in Theater/Acting. You must try out for the highest level. Exchange Students will perform along American Students in front of a live audience at the highest level..Tickets are sold for the performances which include purchases from students and the general public!! Some high school performing arts buildings hold over 200 seats and some up to as many as 650 seats!
International Exchange Students GET INVOLVED in all the Clubs Schools have to offer!! Each School has over 50+ clubs that American Students and Exchange Students are involved with. Exchange Students also have the opportunity to start your own club!! There are so many clubs to name a few: Academic Decathlon, Business Leaders of America, Chess, Competitive Dance, Future Science and Engineering, International Student Leadership, Jazz Band, Kick it Science, Math Club, Mock Trial, Project Africa, Robotics, Student Newspaper, Surf Club, Snowboarding!
