El Camino Real Charter High School is one of the most successful teams in the history of Academic Decathlon, and arguably the single most successful team of the last decade. ECR has a record 6 National Championships, the most of any high school in the Nation.
El Camino's Science Bowl competes in one of the most difficult regions in all of the United States. In recent years, they have made it to the semifinals and placed in the top 4 four times in recent history.
The King's Courier is El Camino's award-winning school newspaper. Members of its staff return every year with trophies from regional, state and national competition, and its editors have moved on to positions on newspapers at schools such as Harvard, Ithaca, Cornell, UCLA and Columbia.
El Camino Real has also won the Envirothon regional competition 7 consecutive years.
JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Society) promotes interest in engineering, science, math, and technology in high school students and provides them with real-world engineering teamwork and problem-solving experiences. The Team participates in the TEAMS (Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science) Competition that occurs annually. ECR JETS Team placed 1st in Regionals and progressed to Nationals.
ECR Robotics won the US National Championship again and became the first high school to win three national titles. At Anaheim Convention Center in April, ECR Robotics also went undefeated in the 2012 VEX World Championship Science Division.
