Be a Foreign Exchange Student at Cleveland Charter High School! Cleveland Charter High School also known as "CHS" is California Distinguished Charter High School located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley in the city of Reseda, California.  CHS is known for excellence in academics, athletics and student activities. For the past three years, US News and World Report has awarded Cleveland a Silver Medal distinction placing CHS in the top 4% of public high schools in the nation. In 2013, CHS Humanities Magnet was designated as a School of Excellence by the Magnet Schools of America for demonstrating a high commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, desegregation and diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs and parent community involvement. The Grover Cleveland Charter High School community nurtures global citizens who pursue academic excellence, realize personal success, and demonstrate social responsibility.  Social Responsibility promotes it's students to: Explore and appreciate different cultures and languages, contribute to the enhancement of civic life, collaborate with others to perform humanitarian efforts and to respect and protect the local environment and global community.
A Sampling of Courses Offered: Exchange Students can take regular high school courses such as:  English 9, 10, 11, 12, American Government, World History, US History, Algebra, Math Analysis, Geometry, Probability & Statistics, Statistics, Calculus, Algebra II & Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Physiology, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Sociology, Spanish, French

AP Classes: Exchange students may be eligible to take Advanced Placement courses, and receive college credit, in subjects like: English Language, English Literature, Statistics, Calculus, Chemistry, Biology,  French, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, Physics, Calculus, Statistics, Studio Art, US History, World History, European History, Government and Politics,  Art History,  Studio Art 2-D Design, Human Geography, Macroeconomics

Honors Classes: Exchange students also often take these honors courses: Math Analysis, Algebra 2, Geometry, Statistics, Calculus, World History, US History, Principles Am Democracy, Algebra 2, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, Economics, Humanities,  English 9 &10, American Literature, Advance Computers

Athletics & Extra-Curricular Activities

Arts: As a foreign exchange student you can chose as an elective: Painting, band, drama, theater, dance, computer graphics, photography, film making, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, graphic design web design

Athletics: Exchange Students may try out to be part of the team for many sports Cleveland Charter High offers: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer tennis, track, volleyball, water polo, wrestling.

Extracurricular Activities & Clubs:Foreign exchange students are encouraged to join a club or even start their own club! Cleveland Charter High School has over 50 clubs! Some included: Earthbound, Habitat for Humanity, Key Club, Junior Statesmen of America, Scholars in Action, International Student Leadership.
